Drunken bozo caught passed out in auto-driving Tesla — next to shocking evidence in passenger seat

A drunk and stoned driver was found passed out in his Tesla — after the the electric vehicle was seen driving through city streets on autopilot mode. The Vacaville Police Department found the motorist in the asleep in the driver’s seat in broad daylight around 11 a.m. Wednesday, with a pizza box and a pack of mini wine bottles strewn across the seat next to him. Cops arrested the unidentified man for driving under the influence after a concerned caller directed officers to the moving vehicle’s location. His black Tesla appeared to be using the autopilot feature. Officers initially did not know whether the man was “experiencing a medical emergency or some other issue,” before determining he was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, they said. “California drivers are permitted to use newer assistive driving safety features in their vehicles. But just like every other driver on the road, they still need to be conscious, alert, and not under the influence while operating them,” the department wrote . “Thank you to the community members who recognized something was wrong and gave dispatchers the information officers needed to respond quickly. Your calls help make our streets safer and improve quality of life for everyone in Vacaville!” Commenters poked fun at the man’s misadventures while thanking cops for keeping them safe. “That time when his vehicle had more situational awareness than he did,” one wrote. “Glad no one was hurt. Great job of getting this guy off the road,” another added.
